Ken moved to Las Vegas in 1967 with his mother, jazz pianist and vocalist Stacy Carroll. Actually, his mom had played gigs in Las Vegas before that, and while she was pregnant, so you could say Ken made his debut on the Las Vegas strip before he was born!
He’s played drums in Las Vegas showrooms & lounges since the age of seventeen, playing Major Hotels like the Aladdin, the Flamingo, the Dunes, the Desert Inn, Stardust, Caesar’s Palace, the MGM, the Sahara, the Mint, the Fremont, Sam’s Town, the Thunderbird, (aka the Silverbird and the El Rancho), Circus Circus, the Excalibur, the Barbary Coast, Silver City, the Marina, Harrah’s, and the Sahara Tahoe and too many more to mention.
He’s played with the following groups, entertainers, and acts: Peter Anthony, Carnival and Royal Carribean Cruise Lines, Sandy (Son of Buddy) Hackett, Jerry Tiffe, Diamondhead, Too Hot to Handle, the Country Dreamin’ Show, Judy Benton, The Danny Gale Show, Robert Allen, Gigilo, Marlene Ricci, The Coasters, Pin-Ups, Steve Rossi (Rossi & [Marty] Allen), Fire & Spice, Bruce Zarka, Phlash, Uncle Sugar & the Sweetdaddy’s, Smith Brothers, Sloopy, Canadian Conspiracy, Rawhide Review, Johnny Harrah , Moby Grape, Troubador, Main Gate, Captain America’s, and of course, The Forever Family starring Shirley Jones and featuring Kenny’s good friend Leslie Lee Bell who was music director and played with Ken in the Danny Gale Show for more than 10 years, much of that as Danny’s ENTIRE band.
Over the past five years, Ken’s been drumming & singing with Ricky & the Redstreaks on the Rodeo circuit in Las Vegas and around the country as well as recording and shooting TV pilots with The Forever Family.
As you can see, Ken is one of Las Vegas’ first call live and session drummers, and is as exciting live as he is exacting in the studio.
