You wouldn’t expect such a powerhouse voice to come from this petite 5’3” young woman, but Stephanie Calvert had started singing and performing as a small child when she and her cast of stuffed animals would act out plays for the family. Though her family moved to Las Vegas at age ten, she was born in Derby, Connecticut, making her an east-coast girl at heart.
After her magnetic stage presence was pointed out by an eighth-grade theater teacher, Stephanie shifted her career goals from space and science to the stage.
Starring in various theater and drama club productions in high school launched her into numerous community theater projects before stepping into the Las Vegas music scene. Starting out with the hit 80’s retro group Love Shack, the years following brought opportunity to work with countless other bands including The Whip It’s, ECC, Harbor Lights, Farenheit, and Dynomite just to name a few. She’s performed at the Venetian, the Wynn, the Bellagio, New York, New York Hotel and Casino, the Rio, the Palms, Mandalay Bay, the Luxor, the Monte Carlo, Caesar’s Palace, the Stratosphere, the MGM Grand, the Mirage, Treasure Island, Harrahs, Bally’s, and many others. She still loves acting as well. Besides staying active in Community Theater, Stephanie understudies major role “Tina” as well as other characters in “Tony and Tina’s Wedding” at the Rio. This natural-born performer has plenty of talent to share with the world and is thrilled to currently be sharing the stage with the legendary Mickey Thomas of the Elvin Bishop Band and, most famously with Starship, and Grace Slick’s are very big shoes to fill, but she does it with elan and aplomb. As she does with her participation in an original retro-pop rock recording band called “The Forever Family” which stars Shirley “Partridge” Jones herself! Currently seeking a major label record deal and shopping a music documentary TV series pilot to major networks both in the US and in Canada, it was in this project she earned the title M.V.P or “Most Valuable Player” when she showed up for the day of the pilot shoot a day after having major surgery!! And yet, her humor that day was infectious! Neither could be canceled or postponed, so Stephanie Calvert proved, to herself and to the world that day, beyond all shadow of a doubt, that she had that magic something it takes to succeed in whatever she pursues.
